NONELDET® SHOCK TUBE is factory spooled in continuous lengths of 3000 m to facilitate efficient manufacturing and handling of NONELDET® products. The shock tube consists of a small-diameter (3 mm), three-layer plastic construction, with the innermost surface coated with a reactive compound.
Upon initiation, the NONELDET® SHOCK TUBE transmits a low-energy signal at an approximate velocity of 2000 m/s along its length. The signal propagation is comparable to a dust explosion and produces minimal external disturbance to the tube. The resulting shock wave is sufficient to initiate a detonator, while remaining below the energy level required to rupture or damage the shock tube itself.
